June-August Surrey Rides Surrey Youth Parks
June 21 Wednesday 3pm–8pm National Indigenous Peoples Day Bill Reid Amphitheatre surrey.ca/indigenouspeoplesday Make your way to Cloverdale Fairgrounds and join the community in celebrating National Indigenous Peoples Day on June 21. Hosted by Surrey's local land-based Nations; Semiahma (Semiahmoo), q̓ ʷɑ:n̓ƛ̓ən̓ (Kwantlen), and q̓ic̓ əy̓ (Katzie) First Nations. This Indigenous-led event provides the community the opportunity to acknowledge First Nations, Metis, and Inuit peoples past, present and future; to share cultural history; and to share spirit, experiences, stories, song, art and dance with each other and the community.
Celebrate Surrey’s skate community with contests, jams and demos for youth interested in skateboards, scooters, and BMX bikes. 1000+ young people build confidence and sharpen their skills at this series. June 4-10 BC Seniors Week Various Events surrey.ca/seniorsweek An annual celebration held the first week of June to recognize the many contributions of older adults and elders in our communities. This event provides an opportunity to acknowledge and celebrate the integral part seniors and elders play in communities across British Columbia.
