STARTING JULY 1

CARDIO BHANGRA AEROBICS BOLLYWOOD AEROBICS

Enjoy this cardio workout that combines Indian dance moves and Bhangra music. Experience a cardio workout combining Indian dance moves to Bollywood music. Increase strength, stamina and flexibility with a variety of fitness and athletic conditioning drills. Combine a variety of formats such as step, high/low, cardio drills or cardio kickbox, including muscle conditioning. Tone muscles and improve stamina using a choreographed routine of punching and kicking drills. Challenge yourself with high-intensity intervals with periods of recovery for a time-efficient workout. Join a non-impact cycling workout that features a variety of drills including hills, sprints and intervals. Ride to your best power output in this progressive, non-impact indoor cycling work out. Get digital feedback on your performance so you can improve during the sessions. All levels welcome. Try a combination of ballet, Pilates, strength and flexibility training using a ballet barre. Use a variety of equipment and exercises in this strength training workout. A gentle introduction to exercise. Maintain balance and coordination using a chair for support. Move from station to station in the fitness centre. Use a variety of equipment to improve cardio and strength. Place emphasis on strengthening your major core muscles, improve balance and core stability. Use the functional multi-station fitness equipment to combine a variety of functional and strength training exercises. Focus on day-to-day movements by maintaining and improving balance, core strength and stability. A body weight strength-based workout to target all muscle groups, increase core strength and flexibility. Use a stability ball and various equipment to maintain and improve strength and balance. A gentle introduction to exercise. Maintain balance and coordination using a chair for support. Learn how each machine helps your muscles, using the equipment in a circuit format. Proper form for improving cardio and strength is demonstrated. A moderate intensity low-impact cardio class. Improve muscular strength and enjoy a relaxation stretch. Experience a low to moderate intensity class introducing upper and lower body muscle conditioning and stretching. The use of a chair is optional. Develop strength, flexibility and proper body alignment while completing a combination of Yoga postures. May include a meditation component. Focus on body conditioning in a series of Yoga and non-Yoga exercises. May include a meditation component A core conditioning routine emphasizing spinal and pelvic alignment. Improve strength and balance. Target the connective tissues of the hips, pelvis and lower spine, stretching and releasing through longer-held postures. Develop strength, flexibility and proper body alignment while completing a combination of postures. May include meditation. Enjoy a fusion of international rhythms and choreographed dance routines with this energetic workout. No dance experience necessary.

To provide fair access for everyone, the majority of our scheduled drop-in activities will open for registration 72 hours in advance. Drop in schedules are online for fitness, aquatics, gymnasium, arenas, youth and seniors activities.

STEP AND SCULPT Enjoy a choreographed step workout and muscle conditioning exercises. STRONG BY ZUMBA Use body weight resistance exercises and “High Intensity Tempo Training” intervals for a full body, functional cardio workout.

FITNESS CENTRE Our state-of-the-art fitness centres are equipped with an assortment of the latest cardio and weight equipment. Look online for a detailed list at your local facility.

Health, Safety and Security This facility follows all public health orders and City direction related to public health. Avoid placing bags or belongings on the floor. Wear proper sport footwear with good tread and a heel cup. No sandals or open toe shoes. Leave your valuables at home. The City is not responsible for lost or stolen items. Limited open cubbies available. Sanitize your equipment before and after use. No food allowed. Bring your own non-breakable water bottle with secure lid. Avoid dropping weights. Use collars for weight plates. Return weights, plates and attachments to their proper racks and stands after use. Report any facility or equipment concerns to staff immediately.

Respect Others Share the equipment. Cardio time limits are in effect whenever others are waiting.

CHAIR EXERCISES

CIRCUIT TRAINING

Turn cellular phones to silent mode; step outside the fitness centre to talk on your phone. Do not take pictures or recordings of people. No swearing or disrespectful language. To meet your music preference, bring your own. Use headphones when listening to music or watching videos on your device. Avoid wearing perfume or cologne. Chalk is not permitted. Education Injuries may result from improper use of equipment. Personal training services are available. Coaching or training others is not permitted. Ask our weight room staff for assistance and instruction on equipment use or exercises. Request an orientation session if you are new to the weight room.

Fitness Centre Orientations Certified staff are happy to provide information on the layout and safe operation of our equipment to get you started on your fitness journey. Orientations are free.
