ENVIRONMENTAL Finalized the standards for new street lights to be LED, including the initial phasing in conversion of street lights in the Newton Town Centre Area; Construction of the Anderson Creek Bridge across King George Boulevard was completed by the end of 2015; Sustained high organic waste diversion from the projected tonnage of 57,000 tonnes with actual of 61,000 tonnes; SOCIO-CULTURAL Completed construction of $3 Million in mobility and safety improvements around school zones, in advance of September 2015, as part of Phase 2 of the City’s Safe and Active Schools Initiative;
Introduced the Surrey Apartment Organics Collection Program. This program provides for voluntary participation in weekly organic waste collection services at apartment buildings across the City; Finalized the supplementary specifications for using recycled asphalt pavement; and Construction of the Newton Storm Water Detention Pond completed in November 2015.
Finalized the updated Design Criteria and Standard Construction Documents which were officially published January 1, 2016; Achieved 95% completion of the City- wide road tenure research;
