Now you can see a 1949 aerial photo from anywhere in Surrey courtesy of an innovative new feature on the City’s Online Mapping System. Surrey Museum is Expanding

These are exciting times for culture and heritage in Surrey as the construction of the Museum expansion is now underway. We are currently closed, and will reopen on September 2018 as the Museum of Surrey, where you can explore a larger Kids Explore Zone and new Indigenous Hall. Our new Feature Gallery will debut with Dinosaurs Unearthed!

August to September 2017

Foundations are laid.

Fall 2017

Expansion structures are erected.

Galleries are built/renovated. A new workshop and expanded artifact storage room is built.

Winter 2017 to Spring 2018

Collection moves to new storage, new exhibits are completed and 1881 Town Hall moves to the Museum grounds.

Summer 2018

September 2018 Museum opens as Museum of Surrey.

Historic Anniedale School moves to the site, and Veterans Square is revitalized to host community events.

Upgrades will continue into 2019
