Helping Youth Reach Their Potent ial

Mindfulness Groups (13 to 30 years) Do you worry a lot about school and making friends or stress about what others think of you? You're not alone. Everyone experiences worries, anxiety and stress. YMCA Mindfulness Groups support young people by learning and practicing effective coping strategies to manage stress and anxiety. Youth Employment Bootcamp (15 to 30 years) Boost your confidence through YMCA Youth Employment Bootcamp. This program helps build skills, strengths and abilities to find and keep a job. If you’re not currently in school, legally entitled to work in Canada and not EI eligible, this program could be for you. Sign-up for an information session or learn more at gv.ymca.ca/YEB

YMCA Leadership Camps (12 to 15 years) Calling all teenagers looking to flex their leadership muscles! Our Counsellor-In- Training, Social Change and Recreation Leadership camps offer participants three great experiences. Whether you’re interested in learning how to be an effective camp counsellor, make an impact on your community or wanting to gain some knowledge on how to be a coach, referee or leader of recreational activities, these camps have got you covered. Mind Fit (13-19 years) Being active can help you feel better about yourself, be confident and be happy. Through the Mind Fit program young people experiencing mild-to- moderate symptoms of anxiety and/ or depression learn how to incorporate physical activity into their mental wellness plan. Plusone Mentoring Did you know that volunteering is one of the best things you can do for yourself and your community? We're looking for mentors to help local teens thrive. Plusone is a community-based program for youth experiencing challenges in their social and academic development.
