ECONOMIC OVERVIEW

The City continued to see a steady demand for future development projects in Surrey, resulting in planning application fees collected in 2024 being 20% higher than those collected in the prior year.

Consistent with an increase in the number of business licenses issued by the City, business license revenue in 2024 increased by 5% compared to the prior year. This is indicative of ongoing confidence expressed by the business community, which continues to expand their enterprises in Surrey.
