ENGINEERING
BUILT ENVIRONMENT & NEIGHBOURHOODS
• Secured a multi-year Enterprise Licence Agreement that strengthens the City’s GIS foundation, delivering uninterrupted service and enabling scalable growth for future innovation; • Acquired remote sensing oblique imagery and LiDAR data to update key derived datasets, including contours, digital elevation models, and building outlines;
• Entered into partnership agreements with BC Hydro to co-deliver capital projects on two major road corridors in Surrey; and • Commenced construction of the 152 Street Station House and Overpass which is funded by the City.
FUTURE INITIATIVES, GOALS & OBJECTIVES
HEALTH & WELLNESS
• Engineering’s goal is to continue to assist in reducing utility contact incidents associated with construction activities. Our Engineering Operations safety committee has reviewed historic incidents and we are deploying further recommendations for 2026.
ECONOMIC PROSPERITY & LIVELIHOODS
• As part of the Disaster Mitigation and Adaptation Fund (“DMAF”) program, Engineering will implement the Government of Canada’s Community Employment Benefits (“CEB”) Initiative to support 20–30% of employment hours carried out by individuals who fall into at least one of the CEB’s seven target groups, and 50% of purchasing from target enterprise types;
• Engineering’s 2026 Capital Program will invest approximately $250 million in infrastructure to support growth and development in the City; • Complete all land development servicing agreement related drawing reviews within three weeks; and • Ensure all land development servicing
agreement related drawings are accepted after a maximum of four submissions.
