Surrey's actual and projected annual population growth rate for each of the years from 2021 to 2030 is shown in the graph to the right. While some annual fluctuation is likely, it is expected that Surrey's population growth rate will average 2.0% per year over the next five years. Surrey's share of growth in the region in the next five years is projected to be approximately 39.8%, making it one of the fastest growing municipalities in Metro Vancouver.
