Surrey Mental Health and Substance Use Centre The Centre offers a range of self-referral services that provide support for people 19+ years of age who are experiencing mental illness and substance use problems in the community. Services available through the centres include assessment, treatment, individual and group therapy, referrals to supportive housing, long-term care programs and community support services, transition of care between services, older adult programs, crisis intervention and peer support. Rapid Access to Addiction Care Clinic (“RAAC”) The RAAC provides walk-in low-barrier addiction medicine and substance use care to anyone with substance use concerns with an aim of assessment, initial stabilization and transition to community-based clinics and services. Urgent Care Response Centre (“UCRC”) The UCRC supports adults (19 years and older) who are experiencing mental health and substance use concerns and who voluntarily seek and require urgent care, but do not require hospitalization. Services Include: • Crisis support • Psychiatric consultation for medication options • Short-term counselling • Connection to community-based services Clients are welcome to self-refer and do not need a referral from another care provider. Fraser Health also accepts referrals from family members, family physicians, hospitals and other health care providers. Short Term Assessment Response Treatment (“START”) START provides assessment and intervention services for children and teens (ages six - 18) who are experiencing a mental health and/or substance use crisis and live in the Fraser Health region. Services may include: • Phone calls focused on providing education and support to caregivers • In-person or virtual mental health, substance use and safety assessment • Brief treatment that could include individual therapy, group sessions and/or further assessment by a psychiatrist
