CITY GOVERNMENT AND ADMINISTRATION

COMMITTEES, BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS Committees, Boards and Commissions meet to discuss relevant and important issues that affect Surrey residents. Some groups are formed organically through citizen engagement, while other groups are formed through a provincial mandate. In both cases, the intention of such groups is to help the City of Surrey operate as a representative, efficient and transparent local government.

COUNCIL STANDING COMMITTEES Established for matters the Mayor considers would be better dealt with by a committee. At least half of the members of a standing committee must be Council members. • Audit Committee • Council-In-Committee • Council Initiatives Fund Committee • Finance Committee BOARDS, COMMISSIONS, & PANELS Established by various legislation and serve at an arm’s length from Council in cooperation with the municipality.
