ECONOMIC OVERVIEW

Due to a slowdown in development activity in the City resulting from economic uncertainties, there has been a reduction in planning application fees collected in 2025 by 24% as compared to last year.

Consistent with first increases in the last few years, business license revenue in 2025 increased by 5% compared to last year. This is indicative of ongoing confidence expressed by the business community, which continues to expand their enterprises in Surrey.
