National Indigenous Peoples' Day Event Semiahmoo Park, Marine Dr, Surrey Join Semiahmoo First Nations &The Fraser Aboriginal Friendship Centre Association (FRAFCA) for this free celebration & wellness event. All families are welcome to participate in this free community event. June 20 Saturday 12pm–4pm Sensory Fun at the Museum Museum of Surrey Join a fun event designed to support participants with autism. Kids can make crafts, get their face painted and enjoy the sensory play station! Sensory kits will be available free of charge, as well as a Sensory friendly room. June 20 Saturday 12pm–4pm Hats Off to Dad Historic Stewart Farm Celebrate dad at Historic Stewart Farm!Try your hand at heritage farm skills, challenge dad to lawn game favourites, enjoy refreshments, and make a themed craft to take home. June 20 Saturday 9am–3pm Surrey Nature Centre Open House 14225 Green Timbers Way surrey.ca/naturecentre Come and get to know your Surrey Nature Centre! We’ll be offering guided walks and sample sessions of our programs throughout the day, including story times, experiments, nature mindfulness, and pond peeking. Until September 27 Friday–Sunday 10am–4pm Darts Hill Garden Park 1633 170 Street surrey.ca/dartshill Enjoy a cool, shady walk at Darts Hill Garden Park on a warm summer day. Take your time exploring the paths and learn more about the garden. Francisca and Edwin Darts gifted the garden to the residents of Surrey in 1994. They wanted to ensure everyone could enjoy their garden and learn more about plants in Surrey. Along the way try the self‑guided video tour, narrated by Francisca Darts herself! May 30 Saturday 12pm–4pm Métis: Children of the Fur Trade Museum of Surrey Come explore the unique and enriching Métis heritage by learning about current and historical traditions with performances, speakers, and artisans. May 30 Saturday 2pm–4pm If Gardens Could Dream: A Beading Workshop with Keerat Kaur Surrey Art Gallery exhibition. Each participant will craft a unique beaded strand that will be woven into the hanging roots of a banyan tree installation on display this summer, contributing to a collective artwork shaped by many hands and stories. Create a second string to take home or gift to a friend or loved one. June 6 Saturday 1pm–4pm Sunnyside Urban Forest Heritage Festival Sunnyside Acres Urban Forest Park Wally Ross Trail parking lot, north side of 24 Ave between 144 St and 148 St surrey.ca/parkprograms Get a birds-eye view of the urban forest in a bucket truck. Connect with passionate volunteers, local naturalists, and wildlife groups protecting our green spaces. Enjoy forest fairy adventures, nature crafts, face painting, live music and more.
