Cool off in an outdoor pool, play your favourite sport or take an arts class at one of our recreation centres. Explore scenic trails, have a picnic or take a walk through the display gardens in our parks. Always remember to stay hydrated, wear sunscreen and watch for signs of heat stress to beat the heat this summer!

Come enjoy a sunny afternoon at Goldstone Park in Newton’s Panorama neighbourhood. The water playground is a fun way to cool off on hot summer days.The park also has soccer fields, tennis courts and an Equip Sport station where you can borrow free basketballs for a quick game. A 575-metre path encircles the fields, and there are picnic tables and washrooms close by.

Sunny days are perfect for Freedom Dog Park, where your dog can run and play off leash in more than 1.25 hectares of open space.There are grassy and gravel areas to explore, and a forest trail for a relaxing walk. Covered seating and a water tap for dogs make visits easy and comfortable for you and your pet.

South Surrey Recreation & Arts Centre is a great place to get creative during the summer.You can take pottery classes in the studio with a kiln to make your own projects. Drawing, painting and other art programs let your imagination come alive, and dance classes add fun and movement.The centre is a lively place for arts and activities all summer.

Summer at Cloverdale Athletic Park is full of activity, with plenty of space for sports and family fun.You can use the turf and grass fields to kick a soccer ball, practice or play a game with friends.The park also has a bike park, spray park, playground and picnic shelters, so it’s a great place to spend time outside.

Get outside and explore new paths with WALKit, Surrey’s free guided walking program. Friendly group walks let you get moving, meet new people and see neighbourhood highlights along the way. There are beginner walks, a weekly 55+ group and Punjabi-language walks. Want to walk on your own?The WALKit web map shows routes you can explore all summer.

Darts Hill Garden Park in South Surrey is a 7.5-acre garden full of rare plants, shrubs and trees, with another seven acres to explore. It was started by Francisca and Edwin Darts and has been cared for over 75 years. The park is open Friday-Sunday until September 27. It’s also a host for Sounds of Summer, so visitors can enjoy live music amidst the beautiful garden atmosphere.
