SURREY NATURE CENTRE AT GREEN TIMBERS

Nestled within GreenTimbers Park, the Surrey Nature Centre is a place for kids and adults to explore nature. With so many things to do here, what will you enjoy best? Adventuring through the forest with an activity backpack? Looking for bumblebees and hummingbirds in our pollinator garden? Exploring our indoor nature exhibit? Fishing at the lake? We look forward to seeing you and helping you choose your adventure for the day. DOG OFF-LEASH AREAS Leashing your dog helps keep Surrey’s parks safe and welcoming for everyone, including other visitors and wildlife. Surrey also offers many off-leash areas for dogs to run and play! All off-leash areas are fully fenced, except for Freedom, Tannery and Dogwood Parks.

Summer Bird Walk 13yrs+ Saturday, July 11 8:30am–10:30am Blackie Spit Park* 3136 McBride Avenue Get to know the summer residents and the diverse habitats that support them! Improve your bird ID skills, learn to use iNaturalist for tracking sightings, and discover ways to help protect wildlife in this park. Bring your binoculars or borrow one of ours. Meet at the kiosk at the north end of the gravel parking lot.

STEWARDSHIP OF NATIVE PLANTS Wednesday, August 12 1pm–2:30pm Sullivan Park 6272 152 Street Learn about the value of native plants in Surrey’s parks! Join us for a guided walk to explore invasive species, help remove Himalayan Blackberry, and create a small planter to grow native plants at home.
