Winter might just be the best season to visit the Surrey Nature Centre and GreenTimbers Park. Have you heard the singing ice or tobogganed down the berm? Come find out how the creek rushes in the rain and whether a salmonberry keeps its leaves.

Activity Backpacks Multiple ages from 2 years to adult With new activities and age-specific themes to choose from, these backpacks are bursting with nature activities to enjoy. Sign out your backpack before venturing outside to explore the Surrey Nature Centre. Time limits apply and vary from backpack to backpack.

The indoor drop in space is open year-round. Dress for adventure and pick up an Activity Backpack, scavenger hunt, or fishing rod to take with you outside. Join a free drop-in program to learn more about the wildlife and ecology of this vibrant urban forest park.

¤xploring SURREY'S PARKS Birding Walks Saturdays 9am–11am All ages Take a walk with a local naturalist to discover the birds that live in Surrey’s parks. Look and listen as you explore diverse habitats across the city. Binoculars available to borrow.

February 15 GODWIN FARM BIODIVERSITY PRESERVE PARK 9016 164 Street Meet at the parking lot off of 164 Street. Look for birds in the old fields, orchard, pond and forest in one of Surrey’s newest parks.

March 21 SURREY NATURE CENTRE AT GREEN TIMBERS 14225 Green Timbers Way Meet in the Surrey Nature Centre’s parking lot. Start by observing the bird feeders at the Surrey Nature Centre, and then walk along forested trails to Green Timbers Lake.

Family Day Geocaching Treasure Hunt Celebrate Family Day with an outdoor treasure hunt and try geocaching! Form a team and navigate with a GPS unit to find hidden treasure boxes (caches).
