2016 ACCOMPLISHMENTS

INCLUSION

 Provided a location for an Extreme Weather Response Shelter in the City Centre.

 Secured a lease renewal for the continued operation of the Whalley “Boulevard Shelter” in support of homelessness in the City Centre;  Acquired a property in Guildford for the

purpose of a Guildford Shelter in support of homelessness; and

BUILT ENVIRONMENT & NEIGHBOURHOODS

 Completed a land assembly in Clayton to facilitate the construction of the Clayton Community Centre;  Completed the development and lot sales of a residential subdivision project in the Cloverdale community; and  Developed and launched new version of COSMOS for the City of Surrey and City of White Rock.

 Acquired $25.9 million in Parkland Acquisitions. Parkland acquisitions, excluding riparian dedications and parkland transferred to the City as a requirement of subdivision, resulted in 28.7 acres being added to the City’s park inventory during 2016, and more than 82 acres being added during the last two years;

PUBLIC SAFETY

 Implemented a Quality Management System for Drinking Water.

 Initiated mandatory safety certification training for all Engineering-Operations employees ; and

ECONOMIC PROSPERITY & LIVELIHOODS

 Increased annual lease and rental revenues by more than $1,000,000 over 2015 levels;  Developed criteria to qualify land development projects as “priority” for expedited Engineering processing (“Nexus”);

 Increased, through appraisal review and negotiation, the cash-in-lieu contribution of park dedication pay- ments to the City by an additional $3,698,387 over and above the original amounts tendered as part of develop- ment applications, representing a 617% increase in comparison to 2015;
