Join Our Team! Eligibility Requirements To apply as a volunteer with the City of Surrey, you must be: 14 years or older Have valid BC medical coverage/ insurance (i.e. BC Service Card or travel insurance) Eligible to volunteer in Canada (check your visa, if applicable) Able to communicate in English Available for 6 months of volunteer service within a calendar year

Application Process 1 SEARCH

Find an opportunity you’re interested in by going to our website. Click the “Fill in an application” link. Create a profile on myvolunteerpage.com 2 SUBMIT Two References – Ask two people to provide you with written references.They can be a neighbor, teacher, coach, employer, etc. but not friend or family member.You can print the reference forms from MyVolunteerPage.com and upload them directly onto your profile. 3 ATTEND A one-on-one interview. Interview times are posted on your profile under the “Opportunities” tab. 4 COMPLETE A Police Information Check (if applicable) – Please note that although your participation in the police information check is voluntary, many of our volunteer programs & activities require the acceptance of a clear police information check as a requirement to volunteer. A Police Information Check form will be emailed to you and/or hard copies will be available at the interview session. Please submit the Police Information Check in a sealed envelope, either in person or by mail, to the Human Resources Department at Surrey City Hall (3rd Floor, 13450 104th Ave, Surrey BC V3T 1V8). If you are a non-resident of Surrey, please take the form to your local police detachment and follow the same procedure as mentioned above. When all the above steps have been completed, you will be contacted by phone or email by a volunteer program administrator.You can then use your myvolunteerpage.com profile to sign-up for shifts and record your hours. The City-Wide Special Events volunteer account recruits for new volunteers from January 1 - April 30 while the Day Camps volunteer account with summer day camp volunteer opportunities recruits from January 1 - May 15. If you are interested in volunteering for opportunities in either of these accounts, please check back at surrey.ca/volunteer in the NewYear to apply! 5 VOLUNTEER
