Activate Your Park! Surrey has hundreds of community parks, playgrounds, and gardens. Volunteer to keep them healthy, active spaces for all to enjoy! Join others in making a positive difference in our community by picking up litter, caring for a park bin, helping with a park beautification project, assisting at community events, and more. LEND-A-HAND Calling all elementary and secondary school teachers! Teach your students about social responsibility and the value of volunteering by adopting a local park during the school year. BULBS FOR BEAUTY October is Bulbs for Beauty month! Join students, community groups and residents in making our community beautiful by planting thousands of bulbs in parks throughout Surrey. Care for Our Urban Forest!

Surrey’s urban forest has over 75,000 street trees and over 3800 acres of natural areas. Volunteer to care for them by removing invasive plants, planting trees, improving tree wells and more. Opportunities available for individuals and groups - to find the right fit and get started, e-mail stewardship@surrey.ca or call 604-501-7687. NATURE WORK PARTIES Drop in to a Nature Work Party and get your hands dirty removing invasive plants. Bring friends and family and join other nature lovers caring for Surrey’s unique urban forest. Everyone is welcome to participate - no experience is required. Tools, training, and light refreshments are provided.

Dog Off-Leash Areas Leashing your dog is one of the easiest things you can do to help take care of our parks and keep them welcoming spaces for other visitors and wildlife. Want to let fido run free? Bring him to one of these designated off-leash areas in a park near you!

Surrey Youth Stewardship Squad (SYSS) Are you a high school-aged youth looking for volunteer experience in nature?  Care for the environment with our youth volunteer group! Plant trees and shrubs, help wildlife, plan environmental projects and more! For all opportunities, training and tools will be provided.
