MESSAGE FROM Mayor Brenda Locke As the leaves change and families settle into new routines this fall, Surrey residents will find plenty of opportunities to stay active, learn new skills, and connect with their community. From free swim lessons for children ages three to 12 to the new annual child pass, the 2026 Fall Recreation Guide is filled with affordable ways for families to get involved. We know that recreation plays an important role in building healthy, connected communities, and we remain committed to keeping programs accessible. Free swim lessons for children ages three to 12 are available, helping more young people develop essential water safety skills and confidence in the water. The new annual child recreation pass for ages two to 12 also makes it easier and more affordable for families to take part in activities throughout the year. Across the city, we continue to invest in the spaces and services residents rely on. Construction is progressing on the expansion of Chuck Bailey Recreation Centre, which will include a second gymnasium, fitness centre, learning kitchen, and arts and culture spaces.
