Surrey's Arts & Culture Map is an example of the work we're doing as part of our Creative Economy in our city. PUBLIC ART IN SURREY Discover public art in Surrey's parks and along pathways, SkyTrain pillars, and historic streets. Over 100 public artworks are completed. More are added every year. Throughout Surrey, you'll find interactive and illuminated contemporary sculptures, engraved boulders, colourful mosaics, and much more. Surrey's Public Art Program brings art into the daily lives of Surrey's citizens.

A series of five pillars, located in the children's area of City Centre Library, showcase artworks by artists from the q̓ic̓ əy̓ (Katzie), q̓ ʷɑ:n̓ƛ̓ən̓ (Kwantlen), and səmyámə (Semiahmoo) Nations. Sacred Paint: Flight of the Hummingbirds, by Brandon Gabriel, illustrates a traditional story that speaks to the power of cooperation; ȻEN,TOEL Being together, by Joan Williams, and Storytellers, by Natache Gabriel, celebrate the importance of storytelling to connect past, present, and future; The Gift of Flight by Rain Pierre honours waterways that run through Katzie territory; and SKWA WACH :: STURGEON , by Roxanne Charles and Easton Arnouse, highlights the sturgeon and its significance in the ecosystem and to the Semiahmoo People.
