DROP-IN Events Filipino Fest Saturday, September 12 11am–4pm Come celebrate Filipino culture at Museum of Surrey with performances, vendors, crafts, textile displays, and a Tagalog and English storytelling session. Textile Dye Garden Open House Saturday, October 3 1pm–4pm Learn about local and Indigenous plants used for textiles and dyeing. See samples, tour the garden and watch demonstrations of spinning and weaving. All Ages BOO-seum! Saturday, October 24 1pm–4pm Celebrate a spook-tacular Halloween. Have a hauntingly fun afternoon with sustainable crafts, ghostly games and visits with Raj the Raccoon, dressed in his Halloween best. FEATURE GALLERY The Many Layers of Hair October 15, 2026 – April 25, 2027 Explore the relationship between hair and identity – untangling a long history of tradition, social acceptance, discrimination, resistance and self-expression. This interactive exhibit will showcase historic and intercultural stories to help visitors connect with each other through the shared yet diverse human experience of hair.

INDIGENOUS HALL GALLERY Where are the Children? Healing the Legacy of Residential Schools August 18 – December 19, 2026 This Legacy of Hope Foundation exhibition uses archival photographs and documents to tell the story of the 125-year history of the Residential School System. Photographs, text panels and artifacts move the witness through the process of leaving home and arriving at school, to school activities and being part of a classroom.

COMMUNITY TREASURES GALLERY Awakening the Boundless August 4 – December 19, 2026 Awakening the Boundless is an exhibition that invites visitors to explore the world inside themselves. Surrey artist Haisha Shahalimi uses striking mixed materials, finishes, and lighting to bring ideas of humanity and the universe into everyday life. Be inspired by Haisha’s journey as a new artist and consider the possibilities that exist within all of us.
