Spring Exhibitions AT SURREY ART GALLERY Experience new art, new ideas, and new media at Surrey’s contemporary art museum. Admission is free. Everyone is welcome. Flow: Works from the Permanent See photography, video, installations, and paintings from our collection that focus on “flow”: the movement of people through immigration, resources through transportation, and the rush of rivers, streams, information, and data. Ben Bogart: Watching and Dreaming April 14−June 10 Do computers dream? If they did, what would they dream about? Explore these questions as you watch beautiful and uncanny works of film made from computer algorithms by media artist Ben Bogart. We’ve got other exhibits on view now, including Many Visions: Many Visions: Art from Indigenous Communities in India (until March 25) and Art by Surrey Elementary School Students (until May 18). Join us for events including talks, tours, and Family Sunday—where families explore, enjoy, and create art together. Sarah Leigh Sarah Leigh has a diploma in Classical Animation from the Vancouver Institute of Media Arts. She has worked as a character animator for television shows including Being Ian , Chaotic , and Delilah and Julius . Sarah enjoys helping students strengthen their ideas

through drawing and animation and bringing characters and their personalities to life. This quarter, Sarah will be teaching Cartooning & Comics, Hand Drawn Animation, and The Art of the Graphic Novel and Manga. See pages 78 and 84.

Nicoletta Baumeister

Nicoletta began her love affair with artmaking over thirty-five years ago with her first art show in her hometown of Kitimat, BC. Since then, she has been involved in many roles that encompass a creative life and it is one of her greatest

Gallery Event Volunteers Do you thrive in dynamic settings engaging with people? Gallery Event volunteers provide support at artist talks, receptions, Family Sundays, and more. Gallery Youth Docent Program Explore contemporary art, hone your presentation skills, develop education programs, and learn to lead. As a Youth Docent, you’ll enhance exhibitions through activities that are both fun and educational.

Nicoletta holds a fine arts diploma from Langara College, a BFA from NSCAD, and a goldsmithing specialization from Germany. She will be teaching Focus on Drawing for youth and Intermediate Watercolour for adults. See pages 84 and 88.
