Check these out! Spring programs are up and running. Sign-up today and join in on one of these awesome roles. Aquatics Programs Do you dream of becoming a lifeguard or simply love to swim? Join our Aquatics program and assist in Learn to Swim classes, lead games, and meet aquatics staff. Park Events Assistant Engage with the public at outdoor events such as Arbor Day, Community Picnics, National Tree Day, Park Play Palooza, and more. Volunteers assist staff with event setup, tear-down, and facilitating activities. Party for the Planet On April 14, Surrey is throwing a party to celebrate Earth Day! The City of Surrey is a leader in Sustainability and will host a Party for the Planet, the largest Earth Day celebration in British Columbia. Party for the Planet is a day intended to inspire awareness for the Earth’s

Children’s Festival This three day event takes place May 24 – 26. Apply to be a volunteer for the City-Wide Events account before April 30 for your chance to get involved. Help face paint, lead circus games, and interact with the public. Doors Open This one day event, on June 9, gives community members the chance to be a tourist in their own city. With several venues opening their doors, anyone can come in and learn about the great things Surrey has to offer. Sign-up to volunteer at one of our great venues!

Education Programs Are you available weekday mornings or early afternoons? Do you enjoy teaching and interacting with children? The Historic Stewart Farm is always in need of passionate people to assist their education programs. Email heritagevolunteers@surrey.ca to learn more.

Urban Forestry Leader Become an Urban Forestry Leader and help engage people in caring for our urban forest! Urban Forestry Leaders will train, lead, and supervise groups of volunteers in hands-on park and tree restoration projects in Surrey. Urban Forestry Leaders will receive training on park and shade tree management and group instruction and supervision.

Train in the Spring, VOLUNTEER IN THE SUMMER! Summertime is fast approaching and trainings are happening now. To get involved check out these great volunteer roles. Canada Day and Fusion Festival July will be here before you know it and that means great summer events. Whether you’re tasting great cultural foods at Fusion Festival or singing our national anthem loud and proud; these events have something for everyone. Recruitment closes end of April so sign-up today and don’t miss out.

SUMMER DAY CAMP OPPORTUNITIES

SPIRIT- One-to-One Support

Heritage Day Camps Interact with kids at the Historic Stewart Farm or the Surrey Museum. Learn Surrey’s rich history while also exploring world celebrations and technology.

During Summer Day Camps in July and August, SPIRIT Volunteers provide one to one support for children with disabilities. After a mandatory training session, volunteers can support children who may require assistance with clarifying instructions, focusing, completing activities, or social interaction.

Community & Recreation Camps

Take part in your choice of sport, swimming, art, dance, drama, science and themed camps. Dates, times and locations are flexible, and will give you something exciting to do over your summer break!
