RANKED CAPITAL PROJECTS

Ranked Capital Projects include large-scale capital projects such as recreation facilities, arenas, sports fields, parks construction and upgrades, and arts & culture amenities. These projects are funded by various sources including External Borrowing, contributions from General Operating, Community Amenity Contributions, External Contributions (Grants), City Reserves, and B.C. Gaming Revenue. During the 2021 fiscal year, $150.6 million in External Borrowing, accessed through the MFABC Long-Term Borrowing program, was acquired for three major projects. These are the Newton Community Centre & Land Acquisition, City Centre Sports Complex, and the Cloverdale Sport and Ice Complex (commencing in 2022). The table below documents the Ranked Capital Projects funding requirements for 2022.
