Policies

Policies are a key component of the OCP. Policies are shaped by broader goals, and more detailed objectives. Combined, they set priorities and help guide land use decisions.

The policies chapter has eight sections, including housing, economy, transportation, and community infrastructure . Each section has an overarching goal, multiple objectives and detailed policy actions. Goals are the broad ideas about what the City wants to achieve in the future. Objectives identify, in more detail, the key priorities to help reach each goal. Policy actions include both policies and actions. The policies provide guidelines for decision-making. The actions are the specific things the City will do to meet each objective.
