1.1 Accelerate the delivery of housing.

Streamline and expedite the development process by: Considering additional delegation of authority to City approving officers; a.

Simplify the building process by expanding the use of:

Standardized housing designs;

Prefabricated dwelling units; or

b.

Expediting the application review process; Expanding the use of professional reliance ; or Using technology and artificial intelligence.

Other simplified and easily replicated residential building forms.

Continually ensure that OCP designations, housing policies and zoning regulations align with current and emerging market conditions. Ensure that land use designations, zoning and permitted densities align with the 20 year housing need identified in the latest Housing Needs Report .

Fast-track housing development approvals with a focus on affordable higher density housing in City Centre , Town Centres and transit corridors.
