OBJECTIVE
2.3 Make public transit convenient.
POLICY ACTIONS
2.3.1 Support the development of City Centre as the major transit hub for the South of Fraser region.
2.3.7
Ensure Surrey residents have safe and comfortable access to public transit by: a. Prioritizing the sidewalk network within 400 metres of bus stops, where appropriate;

Support the planning and development of a grid-based transit network in Surrey that connects City Centre , Town Centres , residential neighbourhoods and employment lands. Identify and incorporate transit priority measures in road and intersection projects. Collaborate and/or partner with TransLink to ensure transit infrastructure and stations are human-scaled, fully accessible, highly visible, well connected to the street network and designed to incorporate public art.
b. Expanding the availability of bus shelters; and
c. Ensuring all bus stops are accessible.

Work with TransLink to improve transit service in Surrey, including: a. Expanding rapid transit service and the Frequent Transit Network ; b. Expanding local bus service; c. Implementing transit priority measures ; d. Improving the safety, convenience, attractiveness and accessibility of transit at stations, stops and exchanges; and e. Continuously improving rider safety on transit.

Advocate, at all levels of government, for increased transit service for Surrey.
2.3.6
Collaborate with TransLink , other levels of government and neighbouring jurisdictions to expand rapid transit consistent with Metro Vancouver ’s Regional Transportation Strategy and any future area transport plan for south of the Fraser.
