My name is Major Rasode. I grew up and went to school in a small town in Clearwater BC and move to the lower mainland shortly after graduation. I have been working as a Sheriff for the last 18 years and look forward going to work every day. I have done a lot of community and fundraising events such as Cops for cancer Variety Club Telethon; I was on the BC Children’s miracle maker panel for about five

years and raised a lot of money, and for other good causes. For 18 years I host an event that is very close to my heart, a soccer tournament in the memory of my two younger brothers that passed away at very young age from heart disease both playing sports. For all my community services I was awarded the Queen Diamond Jubilee Medal and the Sheriff’s commendation award. I am asking for your support and look forward to working even harder for our great city of Surrey to make it safe.

PAUL RUSAN is running for council with PEOPLE FIRST SURREY. Paul is a financial analyst and ex-director of finance for non-profit KPIRG – Kwantlen Public Interest Research Group. He is currently employed by the Vancouver School Board, serving students, teachers and parents.

Paul was the leader of various student associations where he consolidated his leadership and problem‑solving skills. With years of community service under his belt, Paul believes it is time for a completely new vision for the city and find that in PEOPLE FIRST SURREY”. PEOPLE FIRST has a practical plan to cancel LRT and bring SkyTrain. We will make policing more efficient using technology and reallocate to fight gangs while keeping taxes same. PEOPLE FIRST will focus on bringing entry level housing prices down with a ‘Build up, build more’ strategy around transit corridors which will ensure more trees are not cut down .
