I have been elected for 6 terms to the Board of Education since 1999. I am confident, experienced and focused on issues that are important to young students in Surrey. During my time, I have been relentless in my pursuit of equitable funding for Surrey students. We have increased student graduation rates and improved student learning.

I have supported many district initiatives that benefit students and focus on their success, including technology and career education. I will continue to build on all of the successes we have achieved while at the same time, pursue The Ministry for more capital funding in an effort to reduce portable space classrooms. My 18 years as a trustee in Surrey will show a history of consistent, sensible and reliable decisions and a committment to the parents and students of Surrey. I am a member of the Surrey First Education team.

Adele Yu is an independent candidate, one of the founders of two culture societies, and has assisted in the establishment of BC’s first English-Mandarin independent school. She appreciates diversity, multiculturalism, and

equality. She’s a proactive community volunteer. Since 2011 she has dedicated her time and efforts to school activities, aided communication, and have been regularly supporting PAC for 6 years and joined DPAC for 3 years as school PAC’s representative. Adele has proven to be a successful recruiter, project manager, and operational optimizer. Elected or not, Adele will continue helping the community to build a better education platform for students, families, and educators.
