Councillor Vera LeFranc is a business graduate of SFU who has spent decades working in the non-profit sector, focusing on community economic development, poverty reduction, housing and homelessness and anti-violence

programs. Vera moved to Surrey in 1998 and was elected to Surrey council in 2014. Vera, and her partner, Jen, live in Guildford and have two grown children and five grandchildren. A community gardener at Holly Park, Vera combines her business sense and passion for social justice in her work as a city councillor, giving her a unique perspective of our city and its most important local issues. Vera’s council responsibilities include co-chairing the annual Surrey Social Innovation Summit, working with the Surrey Homelessness and Housing Society, and being a member of various council committees, including finance, policing, and transportation and infrastructure.

Nicholas Loberg was born and raised in Surrey, and knows the future is here, too. He attended a local public elementary school, and graduated from Guildford Park Secondary. After trying his hand at a variety of jobs, he returned to school to pursue his degree in Criminology. An

avid Canucks fan, Loberg grew up playing Surrey minor hockey. Loberg believes he can be the voice of Surrey’s new generation. He has an interest in sustainable development, better transportation options, and supporting local business.
