What to Do 20 SPECIAL EVENTS

MESSAGE FROM Mayor Doug McCallum The City of Surrey continues to upgrade and expand the recreational offerings for all of our residents. The North Surrey Sport and Ice Complex is the newest addition to Surrey’s modern recreation facilities and significant expansions have occurred at both Newton Athletic Park and South Surrey Athletic Park. Over the next decade, Surrey will continue to strategically replace outdated facilities, expand parkland, and add new sports specific venues to ensure that our growing population may continue to enjoy the quality of life that an active lifestyle affords. The new Clayton Community Centre will be the next major project to be completed when it opens next summer. Surrey is a city that prides itself in ensuring all of its citizens are fully engaged and active no matter the age, ability or means. That’s why Council passed a 75% discount on recreation passes and drop-in admission for our patrons 70 years and older. As we continue to build strong, healthy communities where people of all ages can be active participants and engaged for life, I want to invite you to make full use of the quality programs led by our highly trained staff. In this guide you will find affordable and inclusive recreational opportunities for every family member. Whether you are signing up for the first time, meeting new people, or connecting with friends, a healthy and active lifestyle awaits you right here in Surrey.
