With whimsical characters, Surrey-based artist Chito Maravilla has transformed Maple Green Park’s washroom building into a celebratory work of art with two designs: the wall panel View from theTop and the functional gate-as-art Lifting Hands. Using bird imagery, the artworks invite us to flock together and build a strong community. The gold panels represent the collective wisdom of our varied perspectives. Maravilla’s designs remind us to appreciate all we have and to recognize the importance of collective wisdom and diversity in our success as a city.
