South Surrey offers a wealth of recreational opportunities for all ages. Whether you’re swimming at the Grandview Heights Aquatic Centre or skating at South Surrey Arena, there’s always something exciting to explore. Head outdoors and explore the unique features of 60 parks, from the exotic trees of Redwood Park to the coastal tide at Crescent Beach. South Surrey
RECREATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES We offer a wide variety of outdoor recreational opportunities. Get out and explore our nature trails and gardens, public tennis courts, youth parks, water parks, bike trails, public artworks. Stay active for life and experience the unique blend of nature, recreation, and art in Surrey.
BIKE PARKS South Surrey Athletic Park offers an excellent trail network for bike riders at all levels. Enjoy a ride at Latimer Lake Park Trails, while younger kids will double their fun at the Fun Fun Park PumpTrack. DOG OFF-LEASH AREAS Blackie Spit Park is located near the sandy shores of Crescent Beach. Dogwood Park offers a small dog area and forested off-leash walking trails. Wills Brook Park is a fully fenced off-leash area next to Wills Brook Park. With one acre of open space, Nicomekl Off-leash Area is accessible from the multi-use pathway at 3435 150 Street. OUTDOOR POOLS Sunnyside Pool offers free public swims and registered swim classes for people of all ages. Check online for dates and operating hours.
GARDENS Feature Gardens
Darts Hill Garden Park is a unique garden gifted to the City of Surrey. Opening in April, visit the garden to see unique shrubs and trees. Community Gardens Stop and smell the flowers at Dunsmuir Community Garden, the Intergenerational Therapeutic Garden at South Surrey Athletic Park, and the Ocean Park Community Orchard. For more information, visit surrey.ca/communitygardens . NATURE TRAILS South Surrey has many nature trails winding through towering forests, meadows, and shorelines. You can even see wildlife—maybe even a blacktailed deer—as you walk through Elgin Heritage Park, Redwood Park, SemiahmooTrail, Serpentine Wildlife Management Area and Sunnyside Acres Urban Forest Park. YOUTH PARKS South Surrey Athletic Parks offers a skate park, bike park, as well as soccer, football, rugby, baseball, tennis and volleyball facilities. WATER PARKS South Surrey Athletic Park offers a spray park for kids of all ages to explore. Cool off May through late September. LIVE 5-2-1-0 PLAYBOX A free playbox is available at the Alexandra Neighbourhood House Park. For information email beactive@surrey.ca.
