RECREATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES We offer a wide variety of outdoor recreational opportunities. Get out and explore our nature trails and gardens, public tennis courts, youth parks, water parks, bike trails, public artworks. Stay active for life and experience the unique blend of nature, recreation, and art in Surrey.

NATURE TRAILS Explore Newton’s nature trails and wildlife, from birdwatching at Hazelnut Meadows Community Park, to migratory birds at Mud Bay and fish viewing at Surrey Lake Park. GARDENS Community Gardens Hazelnut Meadows Community Garden is operated in partnership with DIVERSEcity. Visit surrey.ca/communitygardens to learn more. WATER PARKS Unwin Park includes spray features, an outdoor pool and a playground, while Goldstone Park offers a large water park, playground and multiple sports amenities. OUTDOOR POOLS Enjoy a free dip at Newton’s Unwin Pool. Check online for dates and operating hours. Open during the summer months only.

DOG OFF-LEASH AREAS Newton offers several dog off leash areas, including Joe Brown Park, which has agility features and separate areas for large and small dogs. Additionally, there is a temporary off-leash area at Unwin Park. PICKLEBALL/TENNIS Public outdoor courts are available throughout Newton, with some lit until 10:30pm. Visit surrey.ca/tennis-pickleball for details. INDOOR COURTS The SurreyTennis Centre offers six year-round indoor courts and six outdoor clay courts. BIKE PARKS Panorama Park features a kid friendly pump track, and Action BMX offers an international standard track attracting riders from across the region.
