If you want something more relaxed, visit local arts and culture spaces across the city. Spring also brings many events and activities for families. Pedal and Explore Take a refreshing bike ride through
Tynehead Regional Park, a peaceful spot with wide paths to explore on a sunny day. After biking, walk through the meadows and learn about the salmon habitat along the Serpentine River.Take a moment to rest at one of the quiet picnic areas. With numerous trails and plenty of nature to enjoy, it’s the perfect place for a relaxed outdoor visit.
Pack a Picnic Picnics are a great way to enjoy our parks this season. Fleetwood Park has four picnic shelters, and Cloverdale Athletic Park has three shelters that work in sun or rain, plus grassy areas perfect for a blanket. Sunnyside Park in South Surrey has grassy spots for picnics and a forest area for a calm break afterward. Bring snacks, enjoy the fresh air and spend time outside.
Discover Spring by Rail Take a ride on the miniature train at Bear Creek Park and enjoy the spring scenery. After your ride, explore the beautiful gardens or enjoy time at the playground. If you want to see more, follow one of the park’s nature trails. Bear Creek Park offers plenty to discover and is a wonderful place to enjoy springtime weather with family and friends.
Let Music Lead the Way CatchThe Merry Marching Band on May 23 at the Main Stage at Surrey Arts Centre.This lively show mixes upbeat music, funny moments and playful dancing for a family-friendly show. Kids will love the energy and surprises, while adults enjoy the talented musicians. It’s a fun way to enjoy the season and experience live entertainment close to home.
Celebrate Earth Day Party for the Planet is back this spring with live music, outdoor booths and fun activities to learn about nature. Explore displays, pick up easy tips to help the environment and enjoy performances for the whole family.You can meet local groups, try simple activities and spend the day outside. It’s a great event to enjoy the season and experience spring in Surrey.
