Lace-up Those Skates Surrey’s arenas are the place to learn to skate, play hockey, figure skate or just have fun at one of our family skating events. We host recreational hockey leagues for ages 6 years right up to adult.

Public Skating All Ages Great music and fun on ice activities. Come as a family and get the Family rate (per person). All ages and skill levels welcome. Family Skating All Ages Time for fun with the whole family along with other families in a positive surrounding. This is a great opportunity to spend some quality time with your family and get some exercise while having fun. A family consists of a skating adult 19yrs+ accompanied on the ice by at least one child or youth. Skating – Parent and Tot Children 0–5yrs Enjoy some time on the ice with your child. The ice is shared with skating lessons that are happening at the same time. Parents/guardians 19yrs+ must be on the ice with their child. Skating – Adult  Enjoy some time on the ice during this adult-only skating time. All skill levels welcome. Figure Skating – Adult  Practice your moves during this time dedicated to figure skating. Participants must share music time and space. All skill levels welcome. Stick & Puck – Child 0-12yrs Children 12 and under (wearing full gear) can practice their hockey or ringette skills during this drop-in, non-instructional time. Parents or guardians 19yrs+ are not required to be on the ice, but are welcome to participate. Limited to 26 players.

Stick & Puck  All Ages Bring your own puck or ring to practice your hockey or ringette skills during this non-instructional time. No scrimmaging allowed. Players 19+ required to wear minimum of helmet, gloves and skates. Players 18yrs and under must wear full gear. Players 12yrs and under must be accompanied on the ice by an adult. Goalies must be a minimum of 19yrs. Limited to 20 players including goalies. Recreational Hockey – Youth  13-18yrs Come out and play a fun recreational, non-contact game of hockey with your friends! Full hockey gear is required (including neck guard and face mask). Space is limited to 20 players and two goalies. Student ID must be presented upon arrival. Teams will be divided and supervised by an on-ice staff. Goalies play for free. Recreational Hockey – Adult A great way to fit in a recreational, non contact game of hockey! Full hockey gear required. All skill levels welcome. Limited to 20 players and two goalies. Goalies play for free. Recreational Hockey – 55+ A great way to fit in a recreational, non contact game of hockey! Full hockey gear required. All skill levels welcome. No slapshots allowed. Limited to 30 players and two goalies. Goalies play for free.

• Admission is included with the purchase of a Recreation Pass.

HELMETS are mandatory for children 0-12yrs.

FOR DROP-IN SKATING: Skating aids available to borrow at no charge. Wheelchairs and strollers are welcome on the ice. Wheels must be clean and participant wearing a helmet.

CSA CERTIFIED HELMETS ARE MANDATORY FOR ICE SKATING LESSONS

All city of Surrey Learn to Skate and Hockey program participants are required to wear a CSA approved hockey helmet or snowboard helmet. This includes Boots to Blades participants and parents. Helmets are mandatory for all children 12 and under during public sessions. All participants 13 years and older are strongly recommended to wear a CSA helmet while on the ice during public sessions.

FOR STICK & PUCK AND RECREATIONAL HOCKEY: Check in with the front desk by the program start time at the latest to maintain reserved spot; advanced registration encouraged.
