RECREATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES In addition to our indoor recreational facilities, the City of Surrey offers a wide variety of outdoor recreational opportunities. Get out and explore our nature trails and gardens, public tennis courts, youth parks, water parks, bike trails and more and stay active for life.
GARDENS Community Gardens
NATURE TRAILS Explore the wetland trails and many rare plants, birds and trees of Hi-Knoll Park—one of the few areas in the Lower Mainland where lovely fawn lilies grow. In the spring, the forest floor is carpeted with wildflowers and the trees are bursting with new green. Bose Forest Park is a diverse natural area with forest pathways, viewpoints and natural play areas. OUTDOOR POOLS Make a splash at Greenway Outdoor Pool in Cloverdale. Open during the summer months only. Check online for dates and operating hours.
Two of Surrey's newest community gardens are in Cloverdale. The Clayton Community Garden is adjacent to the Clayton Dog Off-Leash Park. Just steps away is the Ready, Set, Grow! Community Garden at the Clayton Community Centre. Visit surrey. ca/communitygardens for more information. BIKE PARKS Located at the northwest corner of Cloverdale Athletic Park, the Cloverdale Athletic BMX Park is a great destination for novice to intermediate riders. The facility includes a pump track, BMX half-track, snake run, jumps and freestyle area. YOUTH PARKS Cloverdale offers two action- packed youth parks: The new Hazelgrove Park is home to a basketball court and Surrey’s first purpose-built parkour course, while CloverdaleYouth Park features a sports plaza and bowl, a basketball/ball hockey court and outdoor social space. DOG OFF-LEASH AREAS Clayton Dog Off-Leash Park fully fenced with separate large and small dog areas providing a total enclosed area of 1.25 hectares. WATER PARKS Splash, play and picnic at one of two water parks featuring a variety of spray features, nearby tables and shelters. Located at Cloverdale Athletic Park and the new Hazelgrove Park, sprayers are activated by push buttons when it is warmer than 20 degrees Celsius. PICKLEBALL /TENNIS Check to see what public outdoor courts are located in your neighbourhood. Some are lit for night time use until 10:30pm. For more information visit surrey.ca/tennis-pickleball.
