MESSAGE FROM Mayor Brenda Locke Welcome to your 2024 Spring Recreation Guide. As a longtime Surrey resident and your Mayor, I am committed to building a community where residents of all ages are given the opportunity for a healthy lifestyle that embraces engaged and active living. This spring, I hope you’ll take the time to visit our forested nature trails and shoreline views. With over 800 parks in Surrey, there is something for everyone to explore or do. When it comes to sports and recreation, Surrey’s offerings are second to none. From our world-class aquatic facilities to our state-of-the-art fitness centres and network of sports fields, there is an activity for all levels of play and ages. As our rapidly growing City continues to welcome new residents each and every month, this Council recognizes the importance of having programs for all of our citizens to enjoy, regardless of income or background. The City is also dedicated to ensuring our public facilities are as accessible as possible. This year, we are implementing our Accessibility Action Plan that aims to remove and prevent barriers across the City of Surrey. We are committed to improving accessibility at our facilities that will allow everyone, regardless of age or ability to enjoy. I invite you to take full advantage of our recreation facilities and quality programs this spring. Within these pages, you will find engaging opportunities and activities that you can enjoy in the City we all call home. A healthy and active lifestyle awaits you right here in Surrey.
