TakaoTanabe: Printmaker April 13, 2024 to June 2, 2024

TakaoTanabe: Printmaker features prints by renowned Canadian artist TakaoTanabe. Tanabe is a highly celebrated painter and printmaker, recognized for his landscapes that bridge the gap between abstraction and realism. Loaned from the Vancouver Art Gallery and the Winnipeg Art Gallery collections, this travelling exhibition was guest curated by IanThom and organized by the Kelowna Art Gallery. Many works in this exhibition are being shown publicly for the first time.

Family Art Party Sunday, March 10

11am–3pm

Surrey Art Gallery Be inspired by the artworks in un/tangling, un/covering, un/doing and make art with friends and family! Create your own fibre-art using braiding techniques, reflect through poetry, and drawing activities designed and led by Gallery Artist-educators. Reflect on stories woven through artworks that consider personal, cultural, and political relationships to hair and its connection to themes of the sacred, acts of resistance, and wisdom.
