Surrey Police Consultation Data

Is this really the answer to create an inexperienced police force with a high proportion of very junior officers?Perhaps the proper solution is to fund the existing RCMP properly with the requested numbers of officers and set up a police board. It doesn’t matter how much it costs to switch to a surrey municiple force. Surrey is a large city that needs its own force. it doesn’t matter what uniform the police are wearing. Give the RCMP the extra 300+ members that Surrey PD would have and save our city money and translation headaches. End this foolish translation to Surrey PD It is critical that the public have true consultation with full access to the report recently completed about the plans and true costs to implement a new police force. We can all want things but we also have to understand what the cost is!! It is extremely important that the full costs of converting to a city police force be disclosed to the taxpayers of Surrey. This includes the full capital costs plus the annual operating costs. Let us see the true figure and not just the a guess. It is extremely to be open and honest with your citizens. Let us vote for the change instead of forcing it on us. It is a joke if you think swapping uniforms will do this. RCMP do a great job in our city. Same officers in the end. It is important for the Mayor and council to listen to their people. We do not want this transition, ESPECIALLY if it is going to cost more. Nothing wrong with the way it is, despite what 13% of "voters" think. It is important to connaître what exactly you believe will improve with a municipal force. Current explanations appear to blame the RCMP for crime rather than acknowledge the fundamental issues leading to crime, such as poverty and mental illness. It is important to consider DROPPING THIS STUPID IDEA and do more to support the RCMP because RCMP is the GOLD STANDARD for policing. I am NOT paying for McCallum's vanity project and the SPD would be WORSE than the RCMP in every way. It is important to hold a referendum. I also believe that online surveys do not constitute public consultation. The resulting disorganization of this rushed transition will lead to a proportionate uptick in crime. Is anyone even reading this?

It would be good for Surrey because they can focus on local issues
