Surrey does NOT need its own police department. McCallum you did NOT get a mandate to do this, you did NOT receive the majority of votes. Stop wasting taxpayers money, our taxes are through the roof already. Keep the RCMP. Surrey has a unique demographic and growth trajectory that requires customized solutions and forward thinking. The only way the Surrey Police Department will garner more support is if it does things that are different and better than RCMP. Surrey is a shithole.Needs to be cleaned.

Surrey needs its own police service. RCMP is dysfunctional! The lawsuits, harassment, bullying in work place is a perfect example. RCMP is about chasing promotions, files are concluded when they should be investigated. Need more police in Surrey Surrey needs to be proactive in moving to a metro Vancouver police force that covers the region of metro Vancouver. A separate Surrey Police Force is insane and will not serve the needs of our community any bette than the RCMP; we will trade problems Surrey needs to consider that no matter what happens, crime will still happen and changing a police agency will not change anything. It is a city problem and the community needs to change Surrey police Surrey Police Department should local people who have been living for years and understand local values Surrey police recommended Surrey Police should establish its own identity and pride in our city, not merely be a new police force made up of mostly transferred RCMP officers. A tough stance on violent and gang crime is more important to me than overly community policing/ PR. Surrey police should focus to engage local community in order to reshape their community. More local officers should be hired and more local youth should be involved in programs run by Surrey Police.

Surrey Police should take care of city like their own family..there is no need to give advice to the person who loves their family...that person already know how to take care of family.

Surrey RCMP is one of the worst detachments across Canada. Morale seems to be low among RCMP and they don't seem to care about their job especially when it's getting close to their term. It's time to get rid of them and bring in a local police force
