Surrey Police Consultation Data

Surrey requires it’s own Police service with its own Police board. The RCMP have done a good job. However, times are changing that their style of policing is no longer able to police a city this size. Surrey resdnts need to be fully informed as to cost of any proposed transition. Where will all the new officers/equipment come from? Surrey residents should have the opportunity to review the transition plan before it is approved by the province. As a taxpayer, I want to know how much it will cost and how my money will be spent. No taxation without representation!! Surrey residents want to keep the RCMP. Doug wants a city police force so he can control them (i.e. not release crime stats like he tried to prevent the RCMP from releasing). This is his personal vendetta against the RCMP that will cost us all $$$$$$ Surrey should have the most cost effective and efficient police service available and that's the RCMP which is a world class police force. Surrey should RETAIN the RCMP and apply funding to hire more RCMP officers, which should have been over the past decade especially due to population growth. I am NOT in favour of a municipal police force. Surrey will have to come in strong and clean house. Gangsters and drug lines are running rampant in this city. Even if it is just disruption, a strong presence will hopefully prompt gangster and drug dealers to set up shop elsewhere. Take a hard stance and clean up Surrey take the no none sense approach place the pressure on the criminals and law breakers make them feel at unease and that they being watched tracked use the latest technology to help the city become the leader Take action against Prostitution, Be more involved in Drug and Gang Prevention (Yo Bro Youth Initiative), Assure Safety to Religious Buildings( Mosques, Temples...etc) Take any necessary actions to make Surrey a safe place to live and work Take closer look at existing police ( like VPD, Delta, New West.) Take rape cases seriously. Taxes better not rise. Also, we do not need more police pulling ppl over for no reason or increased speed traps to help pay for a new force.

Tell me WHY we need City Police???

And what will the cost be???

After seeing this information in writing, I may change my mind. As it stands, hell NO!! Tell us how much this is going to cost.
