Surrey Police Consultation Data

There needs to be a formal consultation process with the public about if WE as a majority want a police department (being voted in does not automatically mean we agree with all he stands for) and realistic costs expectations with full transparency. There needs to be more patrols/police presence around 70a avenue and 135 street as there is prostitution going on and drug activity and John's trying to pick up regular citizens. We have men who are spotting for the prostitutes. It is not safe here There needs to be MORE public consultation with transparency about the ACTUAL costs. McCallum is TOTALLY WRONG when he says because he was voted in, the majority want this change. He wasn't running on only one issue! He's forcing this way too fast! There should be a Surrey Police Board that provides independent civilian oversight, governance, and strategic leadership to the Surrey Police Department, reflecting the needs, values and diversity of Surrey's communities. Max character limit?!? will increase with a smaller P.Department. They just have to check out the public at night They just have to check out the public in night They need to inform citizens of full costs and how they will increase number of officers and hire that many officers. They should be more active in case of drugs They should have better plans for youth and for outdoor activities They should hire more people than other stations. They should know our community and have knowledge of residents. They should stop gun violence They should stop the gang related activity This "survey" is slanted to the mayors position on wanting to bring in a civic police force which I strongly disagree with. This "survey" does nothing for actual feedback from Surrey citizens. This is not consultation but more seeking validation. This cost is a waste of money, there is nothing wrong with the RCMP & I don't want MY tax dollars to be wasted on this transition when there's no need for it. What we need is to support the police we have & OUR tax dollars to go to infrastructure. There will be a greater economic burden on property owners, as well as less Police members on patrol, at least initially. For the little differences a local oriented service could offer, response times

this idea and concept is completely flawed; the city is well served by Surrey RCMP This is a completely biased survey directed to the uninformed
