To not do it and keep rcmp in charge. We now have a lower crime rate then Vancouver the rcmp is doing a better job then multiple cities with local police. Vote out this council To pay more attention towards crime To prevent gang activities .Have more police presence. To provide a police service that addresses the concerns/issues specific to the City of Surrey. To put cameras everywhere. In high school check eventually all the students , in order to check if they don't have drugs or guns with them. To reduce crime in general in Surrey. Registered guns are okay gun control is not as big issue but crime is bigger

To take drug tests of every high school students at least every 2-3 months Top going forward and keep the rcmp. Hire more of rcmp constables

Totally against change to Surrey Police Dept. Stick with RCMP and give them the manpower they need to do their job. This is absolute craziness that needs to be stopped!!!!!!

Traffic rules must be enforced to avoid accidents and to save human lives. Transition costs and future policing costs compared to the current RCMP. How much are property taxes going to increase? Transparency Transparency in it's entirety prior to implementation!!!. How can we answer this when we have no idea what is going on behind the closed door of the Mayor's office? The Mayor repeatedly said the cost will be no more than an additional 10%..really? Transparency to public on costs. Not be beholden to mayors political whims on policing , jurisprudence autonomy, inter police data sharing for social workers and justice system across depts / ramp. Transparency. The public should know the true costs, how the city plans to implement it. Also how they plan to hire and upstart. This process has no transparency, fake uniforms, and a wrapped vehicle to blindly show the future Try to get the citizens involved in working with and knowing the police officers that live and work here.

Two things ensuring a strong police presence and be response of to local needs.

Uniform police officers visible on our streets and at public venues. The RCMP is top heavy with too many police positions tied to desk/admin duties resulting in a less then desirable police presence. Police presence is a major deterrence to crime.
