Surrey Police Consultation Data

How about they consider the stupidity of this entire "project". The mayor is on a personal vendetta against the RCMP and doesn't want to listen to his taxpayers.

How much will it cost me in my after tax dollars? How will crime be reduced differently with a new PD? How will you find 1000 PD members?

How to find new members?

How to make the city safer for women. How will a new police force do anything different than what the current police force does? What will this cost me?

How will it be better than the current RCMP?

I also want a similar police department as Delta to be in Surrey. I don't feel Safe at night anywhere in Surrey.

I am COMPLETELY against this process. It has been closed to the public with no consultation at all. This is being forced on the residents of Surrey without clear and open messaging. The process is the furthest thing from democratic.

I am happy with th RCMP and always have been and don't want a change

I am happy with the current police force, give them the resources they require. There was supposed to be 12 new members just after the election, where are they? The budget didn't allow them to be hired so how are we going to pay for a Surrey force. I am in full support of a municipal force. Surrey has a unique makeup and crime situation whose needs can only be met by local expertise and local-driven policies. Cheers to this fantastic progress. I am not at all in favour of getting our own Police Force. For much less expense we can add more RCMP officers and be way better off! I am not convinced to date that there is a need for a City Police Department. This whole issue needs to be far more transparent! As a citizen of Surrey I do NOT have enough information to make an informed decision.
