surrey.ca/parks Visit Port Kells Park to spend an afternoon bird watching from the new observation platform in the southeast corner of the park. This spot provides an ideal location to watch overwintering waterfowl and bald eagles in the Latimer Creek wetland. Bring your lunch and a warm drink to enjoy at one of the many great picnic locations in the park.

Surrey’s urban forest has over 75,000 street trees and over 3800 acres of natural areas. Volunteer to care for them by removing invasive plants, planting trees, improving tree wells and more. Surrey Youth Stewardship Squad (SYSS) Are you a high school-aged youth looking for volunteer experience in nature? Care for the environment with our youth volunteer group! Plant trees and shrubs, help wildlife, plan stewardship projects and more! For all opportunities, training and tools will be provided. Contact stewardship@surrey.ca to get started.
Dog Off-Leash AREAS Leashing your dog is one of the easiest things you can do to help take care of our parks and keep them welcoming spaces for other visitors and wildlife. Want to let fido run free? Bring him to one of these designated off-leash areas in a park near you!
