Drop in to borrow a fishing rod or Discovery Backpack and find out what’s new any time we’re open. Play and learn at your own pace in our Sky Room! You’ll find a variety of books and field guides, puppets, natural materials and opportunities for hands-on exploration. Great for families with children.

This is a great place to check out thousands of migrating birds. Each year, birds flock here for great food and great company. Enjoy views of mud flats, salt marshes, and the spectacular Boundary Bay. REDWOOD PARK 7900 20 Ave Wander through forest, meadows, and five spectacular groves of trees including the park’s namesake – a Redwood grove. There are some great hills here for sledding.

Birding Walks  All ages Discover Surrey’s birds on a guided tour led by a local naturalist. Improve your identification skills and find answers to your birding questions! Rain or shine. NEIGHBOURHOOD ENHANCEMENT GRANT Apply for the City’s Neighbourhood Enhancement Grant for financial support for your project! All Surrey residents, community groups, businesses and associations can apply. NEIGHBOURHOOD EVENT EQUIPMENT Make your next neighbourhood event a big success! If you’re planning something like a block party, festival, outdoor music, neighbourhood clean-up or art jam, you can borrow a tent, tables, lawn games and even a portable sound system. January 19 ELGIN HERITAGE PARK 13601 Crescent Rd Walk through wetland habitats for a chance to see shorebirds feeding on the Nicomekl River mudflats and a northern harrier swooping over the meadow. The parking lot entrance is on the north side of Crescent Rd, west of 136 St.

February 16 GODWIN FARM BIODIVERSITY PRESERVE 9016 164 Street Look for birds in the old fields, orchard, pond and forest habitats of one of Surrey’s newest parks. If you’re lucky, see a barred owl perched silently in a tree! Meet in the parking lot off 164 St.

March 16 SURREY NATURE CENTRE 14225 GreenTimbers Way Start by observing the bird feeders at the Surrey Nature Centre, and then walk along forested trails to Green Timbers Lake where osprey and cormorants fish for rainbow trout. Meet
