Hazelnut Meadows Community Park has a variety of amenities for the entire family including a 1.6 km nature trail, a playground, a games court, basketball and ball hockey areas and picnic shelters. Ample parking is located off 140 Street.

Hazelnut Meadows Community Garden is located in the southern region on the park along 68 Avenue. The community gardens are operated by DIVERSEcity; a non-profit group that provides opportunities for immigrant, refugee and low income families

to increase their food security through multicultural cooking groups and community garden activities. Garden plots are farmed by individual residents, so please be respectful of their efforts. Email garden@dcrs.ca to inquire about plot availability.

NEWTON RECREATION CENTRE 13730 72 Avenue  604-501-5540 Newton Recreation Centre, formerly known as the NewtonWave Pool is open seven days a week and offers free parking, child minding services, freeWi-Fi and is conveniently located next to the Newton bus loop.This facility contains the only Olympic sized mat room in all of Surrey’s recreation centres for sport specific training in wrestling, karate and kabaddi.This fully accessible facility offers registered and drop-in programs for everyone in the community from preschool to seniors.

Preschool: one preschool classroom for licensed year-long preschool outdoor play ground plus six off site locations, see page 72 Children: MYzone /MYgames October  -  June M to F Plus, two offsite locations in Newton see pages 74 and 78.

NEWTON SENIORS CENTRE 13775 70 Avenue  604-501-5010 The Newton Seniors Centre is a multipurpose facility with a dedicated Senior’s lounge, cafeteria, auditorium with stage, fitness & wellness areas, multipurpose & activity rooms, a computer lab and billiards room. Open six days a week, this fully accessible facility has free parking, freeWi-Fi and offers a variety of registered and drop-in programs for everyone in the community from preschool to seniors.
