FISHING IN SURREY LAKES Experience the excitement of recreational fishing in the heart of the city at three north Surrey locations: GreenTimbers Urban Forest, Surrey Public Wharf and Brownsville Bar Park. Learn to fish with a free program for ages 5-15 at GreenTimbers Lake, which is stocked with RainbowTrout. There’s also a free fishing rod loan program at Surrey Nature Centre where fishing rods and tackle boxes may be borrowed for up to a week. All residents 16 years or older must have a valid fishing license with them when fishing.

Recreation Surrey offers many opportunities to help you disconnect from technology and reconnect with life through play and adventure.

DID YOU KNOW? We provide free fitness centre orientations. Just call your local facility for more information. The City of Surrey has received the Province of BC’s Child Care Award of Excellence. Youth memberships are FREE, and gives kids 13–18 access to youth activities throughout Surrey, drop-in gym times and much more. You can now take advantage of early registration to secure your spot in our drop-inYouth Hockey. We provide free swimming level evaluations during public swim times. Just ask one of our friendly lifeguards for a level assessment.

Family Sports There’s no better “team” than your own family, so join a sport together and have fun! We’ve got lots to choose from so that everyone can be active.
