As our relationship with both private and public spaces has changed radically over the past few years, artists have worked to understand the cultures and stories that shape them. Working with concepts of design, patterning, geometry, and artifice, contemporary artists speak to the ways in which our identities are influenced by the memories of the different spaces we inhabit and how art in turn can forge new understandings of them.

SKETCH IN THE GALLERY Make art while experiencing art! When you come for a visit, drawing benches are available for you to use. All skill levels welcome! Bring your own gallery-friendly art materials (pencils, paper, and coloured pencils). ONLINE ART VIDEOS 1-Page Animation Loops with Josh Neu Join Flavourcel collective member and animation artist Josh Neu for this “flavourful” introduction to hand-drawn animation. Follow along for advice on how to prepare your own simple loop animations through a single sheet of paper, drawing tools, a camera, and video editing software.
